About JMA

JMA was created 1974.  JMA has two surface water intakes, one at Silver Creek and one at Powers Run, and two reserve ground water wells (Powers Run) that supplement the surface sources to provide water to its customers.    Powers Run is designated as a Cold Water Fishes (CWF) stream and Silver Creek is designated as a High-Quality Cold Water Fishes (HQ-CWF) tributary.  Both Powers Run and Silver Creek are in the Ohio River watershed.

JMA supplies water and sewage to customers in Johnsonburg Borough, Ridgway Township and Jones Township.  Powers Run Treatment Plant was constructed in 1916 and the Silver Creek Water Treatment Plant was constructed in 1975, with renovations occurring to the filtration units in 1992.  The Johnsonburg Sewage Treatment Plant was constructed in 2010.
